NIS2 Directive
The NIS2 Directive (Directive (EU) 2022/2555) is the revised EU cybersecurity directive, in force since 16 January 2023, with a transposition deadline of 17 October 2024. In the Netherlands it is implemented in the Cybersecurity Act (Cyberbeveiligingswet), in force from 15 August 2026. It requires essential and important entities in 18 sectors (including finance, energy, healthcare and digital services) to implement appropriate cybersecurity measures, manage risks and report significant cyber incidents.
