GDPR
The GDPR is the EU data protection regulation, applicable since 25 May 2018. Organisations must be able to demonstrate that they process personal data lawfully, carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) where required and report breaches. Non-compliance can lead to fines of up to EUR 20 million or 4% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher. Audit and compliance help to demonstrate compliance.
