Consultant IT Governance and Risk Management

Help a broad IT control improvement programme at a large financial institution move forward, both hands-on and in substance.

  • Hours36 hours per week · at least 6 months
  • LocationUtrecht region · hybrid
  • ExperienceManager level, Big Four or similar

A large financial institution is running a broad programme to achieve strong and demonstrable control over its IT. A new IT control framework is being introduced, Third Party Risk Management is being developed further and IT controls are being embedded in the organisation for the long term. DORA and the expectations of the supervisor set the framework.

For this programme we are looking for an independent, pragmatic professional who supports programme management in preparing, coordinating and delivering activities and deliverables. Not a heavyweight programme manager or governance specialist, but someone who is practical and strong in substance, takes work off others’ hands, takes initiative and helps get things done.

What you will do

  • Steering committee: you prepare agendas, presentations and decision papers, and follow up on actions.
  • Project management: you record and monitor the activities, plans, milestones, progress and deliverables of the various workstreams.
  • Communication: you support communication with clients and create clear, professional presentations and memos for the executive board, management team and steering committees. You present even complex content in a clear and accessible way.
  • Workstreams: where needed, you provide hands-on and substantive support so that activities and concrete results are delivered, for example on the IT control framework, third party risk or digital resilience.

Who are you?

  • You hold a university degree and work or have worked at manager level at one of the Big Four or a comparable advisory firm.
  • You have solid relevant work experience and want to keep developing.
  • You are strong at working in a project-based way: structuring, planning and organising.
  • You have excellent PowerPoint skills and translate complex topics into clear presentations that boards can work with.
  • Ideally you have knowledge of and experience with IT audit, IT risk and IT control. Knowledge of DORA, digital resilience or third party risk management is a plus.
  • You speak and write Dutch and English fluently.

You are independent, proactive, hands-on, analytical and a strong communicator. In short: you have the quality and experience of a Big Four manager, think along on content and also get things done in practice.
