Each year, the Internal Audit Monitor tracks how many listed companies based in the Netherlands have an internal audit function (IAF). The annual reports for 2017 show that 58 of the 97 listed companies had an IAF: 60%, against 52% a year earlier.
It was the first year under the revised Corporate Governance Code of 2016, and it shows: the number of functions grew by eight, from 50 to 58. The number of companies without an IAF that gave no explanation at all fell from 14 to 4.
